Australia is in the midst of a housing crisis, with house prices and rents rapidly increasing. People are paying so much for housing that they are being forced into poverty and homelessness
In the lead-up to the 2016 federal election, a national alliance of housing, homelessness and welfare peak bodies formed Vote Home, to put housing affordability and homelessness on the national agenda. This work continues as we continue to campaign to end the housing crisis.
The alliance – formed by Homelessness Australia (HA), National Shelter, the Community Housing Industry Association (CHIA) and the Australian Council of Social Service (ACOSS) – asks all Australians to make their voice heard to end the housing crisis.
